Luxury Housing News

The Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta is at the forefront of trends and technology in luxury high-rise living. Below are links to three noteworthy real estate stories that caught our eye recently.

Live-In Closets, Candy Dispensaries, and Other Over-the-Top Luxe Home Amenities by Lisa John Mandell of Realtor.

“Now, it’s not enough to have a spa-like master bathroom; the uber-rich feel they need an entire spa. And a built-in espresso maker in the chef’s kitchen no longer suffices; the wildly wealthy need a coffee bar that seamlessly flows into an outdoor, climate-controlled cafe in order to sip their lattes in comfort and style.

For Ceilings, What a Difference a Foot Makes by Stefanos Chen of The Wall Street Journal.

“Listing website Realtor.com found that raising ceiling height to 10 or 11 feet from the standard 8-to-9-foot range, correlated to an average 50 percent jump in average listing price per square foot, from $1,036 to $1,550. The premium was highest for ceilings between 12 and 15 feet, an average 76% higher than units with standard heights. The tallest ceilings, anything higher than 15 feet, saw the smallest premium—28 percent higher than standard ceilings.”

It’s Electric: Luxury Developers Make Room For Electric Car Amenities via The Real Deal.

“Developers are banking on the rise in electric car use amid predictions that sales of electric cars will represent 35 percent of worldwide car sales by 2040, the Journal said, citing a Bloomberg study. Battery prices are also expected to fall.”

luxury_atlanta_highrise_condo_homeImagine a lifestyle of flexibility and reassurance, with no need for home maintenance. The ability to jetset without a worry and return to a perfectly-appointed home. The freedom to lock the door and live life without a care.

This “lock-and-leave” way of living has become increasingly popular, particularly in vibrant areas where residents – usually baby boomers – want to volunteer, socialize and partake in leisure activities without worrying about caring for their home. These discriminating buyers want all the amenities of a large, single-family home without the headache.

At The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta, owners are provided with the ultimate “lock-and-go” lifestyle. A private residential concierge takes care of home maintenance needs, even dog walking and grocery shopping, and the homes are equipped with large spaces and catering kitchens for entertaining as well as massive terraces for a taste of the outdoors.
