Saturday yoga will take place in our tranquil garden on April 1, 15, 22 and 29 from 10 to 11 a.m. The classes are priced at $30 per person and includes access to The Spa facilities.

Two New Italian Restaurants Debuting in Buckhead

The team behind The Pinewood in Decatur and Ponce City Market’s The Mercury has two new projects in the works for Buckhead. The Italian ventures, Bar Americano and Bar Crema well take over the former Prohibition space at East Andrews Entertainment District. Bar Americano will serve lunch and dinner, and the adjoining Bar Crema will offer take-away items, desserts, gelato, and coffees. Early timeline calls for a summer 2017 debut.

PATH400 Grows

With outdoor walkways and trails being a hot topic around Atlanta, the “City in a Forest,” PATH400 continues to grow. The multi-use trail that runs along Ga. 400 through Buckhead, stretches more than 2.5 miles near The Residences, perfect for exercise or an urban stroll. Q&A with Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta General Manager David Collas

One of the main features of living at The Residences is having access to the array of hotel amenities and personalized services 24/7. Recently appointed General Manager, David Collas, brings 30 years of experience in luxury hospitality to both residents and guests at the Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta. We asked David about his role and how he works with his staff to ensure that Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta is a leader in residential experience.

How did your career lead you to and prepare you for your current role at Mandarin Oriental, Atlanta?

Collas: My hospitality career began when I entered culinary school at 16 years of age. I have now been working in the industry for 30 years in a variety of destinations around the world including Paris, London, Hong Kong, New York, Cannes and Aspen. I have been fortunate to work with very talented people and to have had extensive opportunities to be immersed in various cultures and styles of organizations.

What do customers today expect and demand from a luxury hotel?

Collas: Each guest has a different expectation for their experience and the capability to deliver on each of those personal expectations is what luxury is all about. Outstanding amenities are important, but it is the customized experience and personal touch that we provide that truly makes a stay memorable.
